Sydney Metro Northwest Renewal Precincts
In response to the transformational benefits of Sydney Metro North West, Landcom (a NSW Government land development agency) has been charged with the development and sale of excess Government lands along the corridor. Sydney Metro North West will completely change the urban characters of these areas as well as the travel behaviours of local residents and employees. A successful transformation of these areas requires Landcom to both understand travel behaviour changes and to work with the many Government agencies (Transport for NSW and Roads and Maritime) and Councils that have roles in delivery of the Metro and management of the corridors.
SCT Consulting staff have decades of history in working in urban renewal precincts, from master plan all the way to delivery having worked on the North West and South West Growth Centres, The Bays Precinct and Parramatta Road Urban Transformation. When issues arise between stakeholders – such as safe access points onto the road network for all customers, our team works tirelessly to work through the agency and business area’s objectives, a relevant methodology and executes the agreed plan in collaboration with others.
SCT Consulting also has extensive experience in working through one of the more challenging aspects of renewal – travel behaviour change. With a demonstrated ability to work with Roads and Maritime Services, we know how to structure development in such a way that it is sustainable, limits impacts on the transport network and is feasible to deliver.
We delivered traffic and transport assessments as well as general advisory services, including strategic concept design, traffic modelling, travel behaviour analysis, review of relevant transport legislative requirements, and represented Landcom’s interests in collaboration with Councils and other stakeholders.
Landcom has engaged SCT Consulting as their Traffic and Transport Advisors for Tallawong, Kellyville, Bella Vista, Showground, Norwest and Cherrybrook precincts to support their development objectives.
