Stubbo Solar Farm
ACEN Australia is developing the Stubbo Solar Farm, a grid-connected photovoltaic solar farm of up to 400 megawatts, along with associated infrastructure, such as an on-site substation, transmission infrastructure and battery energy storage system, located about 90km east of Dubbo and about 10km north of Gulgong in the Mid-Western Regional Council local government area of NSW. The proposed site is located within Australia’s first ever Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) – the Central-West Orana REZ.
In collaboration with Ramboll, SCT Consulting led the preparation of the Traffic and Transport Assessment of the EIS. Transport assessment was considered a significant component of the EIS and included the assessment of construction traffic impacts along the construction access routes and critical intersections for a peak scenario, including geometric and sight distance reviews.
Appraisal of construction traffic impacts on all modes of transport was conducted as well as advice on mitigation measures, including any road upgrades, changes to sealed widths, and construction traffic management plans. Additional tasks included managing the traffic surveys, technical assessments, future growth forecasting and production of the report, as well as reviewing transport items within the body of the main EIS.
