As part of delivering Sydney Metro, the existing rail line between Epping and Chatswood needed to be upgraded to metro operation standards. Transport for NSW needed an alternative transport solution to ensure that the impact on 40,000 daily trips was minimised during the seven-month upgrade.

SCT Consulting worked in house to lead the collaboration of multiple government agencies to develop a solution known as ‘Station Link’, which commenced operation on 30 September 2018.

Our team managed the program of works and delivered technical assessments of network and bus operation elements to ensure that the service was planned within a comprehensive network efficiency framework. The project focused on driving road network safety, pedestrian management, communications, customer impact and management of change plan outcomes to ensure that the impact on customers was understood and minimised.

The SCT Consulting team brought not only technical skills and knowledge, but also understanding of the strategic context of the project. They went beyond modelling and considered how we would best design the network for customers.
