St George Hospital Redevelopment
St George Hospital is undergoing a multi-stage redevelopment of the hospital precinct to revitalise its facilities and provide better health services and experience to patients. St George Hospital Stage 3 involves the development of an Ambulatory Care Building, a facility aimed at consolidating outpatient services into a primary location and provide a welcoming streetscape entrance to the precinct.
SCT Consulting were commissioned by Health Infrastructure to act as the Transport, Traffic and Parking consultants for the masterplanning and schematic design phases. Our role included providing technical guidance to support the delivery of a site masterplan as well as subsequent REF documentation. Intersection modelling of the road network surrounding the precinct was undertaken to determine the impact of the proposed development as well as the determination of future travel demand and impacts on the parking supply, road network performance and pedestrian connectivity.
A key outcome was the development of a bespoke parking model that to accurately identify current and future parking demands, making best use of inputs available from the hospital. Our team advocated for sustainable transport through the development of a Green Travel Plan outlining initiatives to promote sustainable transport and alleviate pressure on parking supply.
