Cross River Rail
Cross River Rail is a critical public transport project being delivered in South East Queensland, which will provide 10.2 kilometres of rail line from Dutton Park to Bowen Hills. The construction program required closure of multiple lines in Brisbane’s rail network. In order to minimise impacts, the development of rail and / or alternative transport-based solutions for each of the proposed extended possessions was required.
SCT Consulting worked in house to lead the collaboration of multiple government agencies to develop an alternative transport solution to address the needs of a rolling program of rail line closures across Brisbane’s rail network. This involved managing and delivering technical assessments of network and bus operation elements to ensure that the service was planned within a comprehensive network efficiency framework (demand assessment, service planning, kerbside management, route optimisation, road safety, pedestrian management).
Fundamental to the success of the project was ensuring customer impact and management of change plan outcomes were effective to ensure that the impact was clearly understood and minimised.
